Issue:
When uploading a large Revit Family, Project or Template file to the Content Catalog, the preview image is not processed, instead the following warning message may be displayed:
"File is too large to parse for Parameters. The image will be processed later: File name.rte"

The file status will show initially as pending for all supported versions, including versions earlier than the base version.

The base version may become available to use after some time, but other versions may continue to show as pending.

 Â
Cause:
The file is too large. This issue has been found to be replicable with .rvt, .rte, and .rfa files larger than 87mb.
Â
Solution:
Currently, there are no officially documented restrictions or files size limits when uploading to Content Catalog, however, Autodesk is aware of the reported behavior that appears to be affecting larger files.
The Autodesk engineering team is currently working on implementing a new file processing system. As part of this effort, they will conduct extensive testing to evaluate performance with larger files and determine if any recommended size guidelines or limits are needed. These findings will be documented and shared once available.Â
At this time, we do not have an estimated timeline for resolution.
To keep you informed, any updates related to this issue will be summarized and posted on the Content Catalog Release Notes. You may bookmark the page to stay up to date with the latest developments.
As a workaround for large template or Revit project files, please consider using the Batch Export feature to extract and upload the Families, System Families (Walls, Floors, Ductwork, Piping, Cable Tray, etc), Details (Drafting Views), and schedules from the file.
