How to Uninstall a Corrupted WebView 2 Component

Issue:

You need to uninstall the Web View 2 Component but it is corrupted and cannot be uninstalled from the Control Panel.

Solution:

  1. Open an elevated Windows Command Prompt.
  2. Enter the following command: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application\*Version Number*\Installer\setup.exe" --uninstall --msedgewebview --system-level --verbose-logging --force-uninstall (Replace Version Number with the version of  Web View 2 you currently have installed).
  3. Once the corrupted version of the Web View 2 software has been uninstalled download the newest version of the software here.
