How to bypass the “Open File-Security Warning” Message

June 9, 2022 Jeff Lotan

Issue:
Trying to install Autodesk software using a batch file you receive a message:  “Open File - Security Warning We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file? processlauncher.exe”, but the deployment and batch file are supposed to be “silent” and not prompt you.

Causes:
This problem is caused by Security settings in Windows “Internet Options”

Solution:
Go into Windows Control Panel and run/open “Internet Options”.  You may need to select “View by:  Small icons”.

On the Internet Properties dialog select the “Security” tab, “Local intranet” and click “Sites”

Click the “Advanced” button.

In the “Local intranet” dialog, enter the location to the installer/deployments.

Click “Add” and ok your way back out.

Try the install / batch file again and it should bypass that message.
