How to disable the Autodesk Assistant in AutoCAD products
Issue:
Is it possible to disable the Autodesk Assisistant in AutoCAD products?
Solution:
Up to AutoCAD 2026 products:
To disable the Autodesk assistant within the AutoCAD 2026 products:
- Once the product is launched, type ASSISTANTSUPPORT in the command line and change the value to 0.
- Restart the AutoCAD product and the Autodesk Assistant will be disabled.
You can also disable the Autodesk Assistant in the Windows registry:

Launch the Windows registry editor.
Navigate to the following registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R2x.x\ACAD-x10x:409\Profiles\<name of profile>\Variables*ASSISTANTSUPPORT
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R2x.x\ACAD-x10x\Variables\*ASSISTANTSUPPORT
3. Change the default Data value on both of the above registry keys from 1 to 0.
Note: Changing the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key affects the current Windows user logged into the workstation at that moment.
Changing the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key ensures that any future AutoCAD user on that machine will inherit the specified value of ASSISTANTSUPPORT.
The 'x' values vary between release year and version of the AutoCAD product.
The Autodesk Assistant can not be disabled in AutoCAD 2027 Products
You can disable the Tech Preview by doing the following:
- In the Autodesk Assistant, click the gear symbol (Settings)
- Toggle Tech Preview Off.
