Revit 2024 What's New: Specify Path for Cached Cloud Models

June 30, 2023 Jeremy Smith

New Feature:

Revit 2024 gives users the ability to specify a different drive or path for local cached cloud models.

Problem/Issue Addressed by Feature:

When working on cloud workshared models, the default location for the cached local models is C:\Users\%Username%\Appdata\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit <version>\CollaborationCache.

In some cases, this presented problems for users who had limited space on their C: drive, as cached models consumed space quickly.  Their only option was to use an unsupported workaround to create a symbolic link to push the cached models to a different drive.

This feature allows users or administrators to easily specify a different location for the models under File > Options > Cloud Model tab.
