Modify a Network deployment to use as a Named Users deployment

February 27, 2021 Ken Williams

Issue:

You now have Named User seats and want to use your existing deployments for Named Users installs.

Solution:

  1. Go to the location where your deployments are on the network.
  2. Choose the deployment you would like to modify.
  3. Click on the “Tools” folder inside the deployment folder.
  4. Once you are inside the “Tools” folder, click on the “Create & modify a deployment” icon.
  5. Once the deployment opens choose “Create a new deployment configuration using an existing configuration as a template”.
  6. Next and a descriptive name for the install icon that will be created. I try not to include spaces.
  7. Click Next
  8. Choose “I Accept” and then choose next.
  9. Choose “Autodesk ID” and then choose next.
  10. You are done and can click the X in the top right corner to end.
  11. Now when you go to the deployment folder you will see the install Icon you created in step 6.
  12. Click this icon to now install from a deployment as Named User.
