Archibus Filters

Issue:  How to use archibus filters in Smart Client

Solution:

Smart client has several methods for using filters to restrict the data in the view you’re are looking at.

The first option is to use the filter line to enter the data you are looking for in each field that is visible.  Just start typing and it will filter as you type.

If you are looking for things in the middle of the data value, like all rooms that have CLO in the room standard, you would type %CLO

The next option for using Filters is to use the Filter icon in the ribbon.

In this dialog box, you will see the word AND.  This can also be set to OR.  The difference is that AND means that all the criteria must be met for the data to show in the results.  OR will let either criteria be met to show in the results (provided there is more than one).

Next to AND/OR will be a + or an x.  These will show up when you point your mouse to the right side of AND/OR.   The + will add criteria and the x will clear the filter.

When you use the +, you will get 2 options.

The first is to add a condition.  This is used for single items in the filter.  For instance you want to see only buildings in Ohio.

The second is to add a group of conditions.  This option will start with an AND/OR selection and then you can add several pieces of criteria.  For example you want rooms with bl_id = AB and have room type = storage.    This filter can be done without a group.  A group allows you to add a second group of multiple conditions.

For example, you want to see all the AB buildings that have room type = storage   or all HQ buildings that have room category = Support  or all rooms that are less than 25 sq ft.

If you wish to clear all the filters in the view, click the Clear button to the right of Filter in the ribbon.
