How to Edit a Plant 3D Title Block Attribute Tag

Issue:
Need to edit/rename an attribute tag within Plant 3D title block file to have the same attribute tag value in multiple locations.

Solution:
To edit the attributes within an AutoCAD Plant 3D title block.
One option to rename a duplicated attributed tag with same name in the title block, is to open the iso.dwt located in the project isometric style folder. Here is an example of the folder location C:\Plant Projects\2024 Imp\Isometric\Final_ANSI-B. Make sure that when you use the open dialog box you change the format from dwg to dwt before navigating to the folder location. The open dialog box will place you in the default location of the template file path when switching from dwg to dwt and then you will need to navigate back to the project folder location again.

Double click on the attribute tag and rename the attribute from, for example Project_Number to Project_Number1

Or select the attributed tag and open properties palette and rename.

Select the close block editor icon on the ribbon and save the block

Another option for changing the attribute name is to go into Project Setup to make the change. Go to Project setup under the Home tab on the Project panel and select Project Manager drop down list and select Project setup or right click on the project name in the Project Manager palette and select Project Setup.

In the Project Setup dialog box select Isometric DWG Settings on the left and then select Title Block and Display. Select the dropdown to change the isometric style to the correct style for editing. On the middle right select Setup Title Block and then on the ribbon select Title Block Attribute button on the Attribute panel. The title block is open in the block editor opens. Double click on the attribute tag and rename the attribute from, for example Project_Number to Project_Number1

Or select the attributed tag and open properties palette and rename the tag

Select the close block editor icon on the ribbon and save the block

A better solution.
There may be times when you need the same attribute values in multiple location on your iso title block.  To add the same attribute tag to multiple locations first go into the project setup. Under Isometric DWG setting select Title Block and Display on the left, set the style to be edited on the top, and then select Setup Title Block.

On the ribbon under Attribute panel select Title block Attributes, this will take you into the block editor environment and the Insert Title Block Attribute dialog box will open.

In this example we will add an additional Project Number, Under Add Attributes tab select General and then Project Number. Then select Pace butto to place the duplicate attribute tag named Project_Number1

When using the Insert Title Block attribute dialog box, you may notice that there is a space in the name for Project Number. The tag works fine for gathering pant properties information but not for AutoCAD attributes. If you double click on the attribute Tag and select ok to the Edit Attribute Definition you will receive an error message the tag cannot be null or contain spaces.

Once you place the Attributes from the Insert Title Block Attribute dialog box, do not edit the tag afterwards. Run the Production Iso to test and the project number should show only if there is a project number set up in the project.
