Civil 3D: Survey Database is not readable

Issue:

Civil 3D: Survey Database is not readable.

 

You may see errors such as “Survey Database is not readable”, “Unable to find the requested .net Framework. It may not be installed.”, “You might not have access permissions to the file or directory. Source AeccAdoNetWrapper”.

Causes:

Microsoft SQL server compacts have an install issue.

Solution:

 

Repair SQL install

  • Go to Apps and Features in Windows.
  • Find and highlight MS SQL Server Compact 3.5.
  • Right click and select repair.

 

Reinstall SQL install

  • Go to Apps and Features in Windows.
  • Find and highlight MS SQL Server Compact 3.5.
  • Right click and select uninstall.
  • Restart the system.
  • Download and install the MS SQL Server Compact 3.5.
