IMAGINiT Vault Client Utilities STP File Creation Fails

January 4, 2023 Heath White

Issue:

You have the IMAGINiT Vault Client Utilities and are using them to create STP files using the Vault Job Processor.  The issue is the job will attempt to process and then fails.

Causes:

This issue is caused by a missing .dll file that should be placed during the installation of the Vault client. Previously this file was applied by the Vault Client installation, but with the 2023 version it is not installed to the necessary location.

Solution:

To fix the job processor STP file issue, on the machine hosting the Job Processor, you will need to do the following:

Copy the “VBCRes.dll” file from:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Inventor Interoperability 2023\Bin\en-US\VBCRes.dll

To:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault Client 2023\Explorer\VaultInventorServer\en-US\

Note: If your installation is missing the “en-US” folder indicated above, you will need to create that folder and place the “VBCRes.dll” inside of the folder.

Once the file has been copied, you will want to exit the Job Processor (not just pause or minimize it) and restart the Job Processor.  Then you will need to either resubmit any failed STP creation job or submit a new job to test the fix.

As a final note, IMAGINiT Vault Client Utilities will fix the missing file if you have an installer version after 23.0.430
