Autodesk Vault 2023 Thin Client Does Not Show Update After Install

Issue:

You’ve installed the Vault 2023.1 Update (Server) and your Thin Client does not show that the update has been installed

You also cannot run a repair/reinstall/uninstall on the server update.

Causes:

The first issue is most often due to the Thin Client having been installed or reinstalled after the Vault Server update was applied as you can see in the following image:

This will lead to the versions of the Vault Server and the Vault Thin client being out of sync and will require a repair.

The second issue this brings up is that starting with the 2022 release of Autodesk products, most Autodesk programs no longer have the old “repair/reinstall/uninstall” option, begging the question, “How do I repair the installation of the update so that the Thin Client is included?”.

Solution:

To correct the first issue, the second issue will need to be addressed first.  Since the 2023.1 Vault Server update does not include the option to “repair/reinstall/uninstall” the update, you will need to go back to the installer for the update and run it as administrator on the server.
