Revit Error: An Unrecoverable Error has Occurred

Issue:

You are receiving the error "An Unrecoverable Error has Occured" when trying to open a Revit project.

Solution:

  1. Make sure that Revit is closed.
  2. Navigate to the folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\[Version]
  3. Move the files in that folder to a different location on your machine.
  4. Start Revit and it will load without add-ins.

(You can add the add-ins back in to the folder one by one to determine which one is causing the error)
