Unhandled exception when starting Vault Metadata Update v24.08650

Issue:

With the IMAGINiT Utilities for Vault Server 2024 installed and the 2024.0.8650 version is started, for example from a shortcuts folder on the desktop, an error occurs.

The error for version 24.0.8650 is:

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Could not load file or assembly 'DevExpress.Utils.v21.1, Version=21.1.5.0.
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b88d1754d700e49a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Causes:

The Vault Metadata Update needs the Vault Pro 2024 Client installed to sign into the Vault Server component.

The Unhandled Exception occurs when attempting to locate the Vault Client login and it cannot locate DevExpress.Utils.v21.1.

The .dll that the system is missing should be located here:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\DevExpress.Data.Desktop.v21.1
\v4.0_21.1.5.0__b88d1754d700e49a\DevExpress.Data.Desktop.v21.1.dll

This issue was caused after installing the Vault Client 2024.3.1 update on the Vault Server host.

Solution:

Locate, download and install the newer version of the Vault Server Utilities v2024.1 which will update the 2024.0 version to 2024.1.

The newer version can be downloaded from the same download link that was used to download the 2024.0 version.

With the 2024.1.8860 version, the Vault Metadata Update can once again open successfully.
