ABC Pro for Civil: sharing Civil 3D Pipe Catalogs

In previous post it was shown how the Autodesk BIM Collaborate (ABC) Pro for Civil  can support AutoCAD content in a shared project.

Let’s explore if storing and sharing Civil 3D Pipe Catalogs from the ABC is possible.

1st - Adding Pipe Catalogs to the ABC:

First, the default Pipe Catalogs (gravity and pressure) are copied to the shared ABC Project location.

They are bulky and might take the Autodesk Desktop Connector a while to upload to the ABC shared location.

2nd - Setting Path to Pipe Catalogs on the ABC:

Then, from Civil 3D use the commands to set the paths to the Gravity (SetNetworkCatalog) and Pressure (SetPressureNetworkCatalog) catalogs:

3rd - Parts List from Pipe Catalogs on the ABC:

Now, the matching Parts Lists (gravity and pressure) can be created using the set paths to the ABC catalogs:

NEW Gravity Parts List from ABC project

NEW Pressure Parts List from ABC project

4th – Creating Pipe Network from Pipe Catalogs on the ABC:

Last, is to test setting by creating a Pipe Networks (gravity and pressure) that pull from catalog data on the ABC.

NEW Gravity Pipe Network

NEW Pressure Pipe Network

This was just a quick test and was NOT tested in a production environment.  And from the looks the ABC can supports both Gravity and Pressure Pipe Catalogs.
