Civil 3D 2019.2 Update – Data Referencing Sample Line Groups

February 20, 2019 Joe Hedrick, LS, EIT

As we continue our look into the Autodesk Civil 3D 2019.2 update, Autodesk made a small, but very useful enhancement when data referencing sample line groups.  When data referencing sample line groups, Civil 3D will now automatically  create references to the sampled sources within the sample lines if references do not already exist in the drawing.

In this example source drawing, several Civil 3D objects exist and data shortcuts have been created:

In a new drawing, upon creating a reference to only the sample line group, Civil 3D now will create references to all of the sampled sources:

While certainly not a huge change, hopefully this will save a little extra time when putting together cross section sheets.
