Autodesk Download Manager using the Download Option

February 9, 2024 Paul Sills

Issue:
How to install Autodesk applications using the Download option with the Create Installer file per product.
Solution:
Log into your Autodesk Account and go to "All Products and Services" in the left panel menu.
Select the product and product version you want downloaded.
Select the down arrow to the right of the install button, then select "Download".

This will download the Create_Installer_ACD_2024_1_2_English_WIN64.exe file (for AutoCAD 2024 download installation). Typically, you can find this at the top right of your web browser window or in your Downloads folder. If you are prompted to save the file then first select Save.

Then run the .exe by clicking the file from the top right of your web browser or from the location where you saved the file. This will download and then start the download of the application placing the installer under C:\Users\user name\Downloads\Autodesk.
Select “Yes” to download the software.

Once the software is finished downloading, it will prompt to pick "Open in folder" or "Run installer".

This downloaded folder can be moved to a USB, external drive, or network location later on.
By selecting "Run installer" the installer will start the install process for the application being downloaded.
Select Yes to User Account Control

Example for AutoCAD Architecture 2024:

If you want to install at a later time or have exited out of the Autodesk Create Installer:
• Browse to the location (default is C:\Downloads\Autodesk) the installation media was saved.
• Find the folder you downloaded.
• Open the folder and look for "Setup.exe".
• Right click on the Setup.exe to "Run as administrator".
• This will start the install of your Autodesk application and bring up the same setup window with the Install option.
