Issue:
How to setup a drawing for Archibus?
Solution:
When you open a drawing in AutoCAD extensions for the first time, it will prompt you to enter basic information about the drawing, like the building and floor codes. There will be a + on the field which will allow you to create a new building and floor code, if necessary. Or you can create the building and floor via Smart Client or the Define Locations view in Web Central
Once you enter this information, it will create a record in the afm_dwgs table. You should not directly edit data in this table or you could break the link between the drawing entity and the database record.
From here, you will be editing data on the room entities. When you edit data, it will modify the xdata on the drawing entity to include archibus data. This is primary key information, usually, but may include other data. It will also create/edit the record in the archibus database. It will fill in the drawing name and entity handle fields on the record to match what is in the drawing.
For all this to work, it is expected that there is only one building and floor per drawing and only one drawing per building/floor.
