Issue:
Can't open Inventor Read-only Mode to view Inventor files from Vault or as an Inventor file viewer.
This errors message pops up and the program closes:
Causes:
The Inventor Read-only Undo folder, by default the Windows temporary folder, is full.
Or the user doesn't have write permissions to the folder.
See this Autodesk article for causes that can apply to Inventor Read-only mode as well as Inventor: Inventor startup error transaction manager failed to start
Solution:
Empty out the Windows temporary folder:
In Windows Explorer type in %temp% in the address.
Select all the files using CTRL+A. Delete all the files, skipping ones that are in use.

Change the Undo folder:
Since Inventor Read-only won't launch, you can edit the Undo folder path in this file:
%appdata%\Autodesk\Inventor Read-only Mode 202*\UserApplicationOptions.xml
The default UndoPath is the user's Windows temporary folder.
If it was modified you can change the path in this file, save it and launch Inventor Read-only Mode.
The Undo folder path can be edited in the application here:
