How to Install Inventor Professional Content Center libraries

Issue:

Autodesk Inventor was installed on your system but you do not have the Autodesk Inventor Content Center libraries . Typically the Content Center libraries are installed during the original installation, however, there are a few situations where they may not have been installed.

Causes:

Content Center libraries may not install if a checkbox for the Content Center Libraries is not applied during the original installation or if a deployment was created without the Content Center libraries. The checkbox to install the Content Center libraries will install nearly most of the libraries, except the GOST library. There is not an option to select which libraries to install when using the default installation media.

*If you are also using Autodesk Vault, it’s possible the Content Center libraries were not installed on purpose. If your company has chosen to use Vaulted Content Center libraries, the libraries will be on your Vault Server and accessed through a change in Inventor Application Options.*

Solution:

The default method to install the Inventor Content Center Libraries is to check the box during the installation of Inventor. If you skipped the checkbox when installing Inventor, open File Explorer and find the downloaded Inventor installation media. Run the Setup.exe to start the installer again. If you do not have the Inventor installation media downloaded then please use the Download method from your Autodesk account at https://manage.autodesk.com to obtain the installation media. The link below has instructions to use the Download method to obtain the installation media.

When the option to “Install additional components” appears, select the box to install Inventor Content Libraries. The image below displays the checkbox to install Inventor Content Libraries. In the image below, DWG TrueView 2024 and Inventor Electrical Catalog were previously installed.

The Inventor installer will complete and show the Inventor Content Libraries were installed.

The Inventor Content Center Libraries, except the GOST library, should now be installed locally on your system. If you want to modify which libraries are installed, or install the GOST library, please review the link below.
