Civil3D 2025: How to get my C3D as AutoCAD and Map 3D icons back

Issue:
Civil3D 2025: How to get my C3D as AutoCAD and Map 3D icons back.

There are documents on this however I have noticed in Civil 3D 2025 making changes to the /Product in the icon target field causes fatal errors.

Causes:
Appears to be an issue if you change the /Product in the icon target field  to AutoCAD.

Solution:

Load the standard icon however add a AutoCAD or Map 3D workspace.

How to Create a Vertical Cure table in Civil 3D
1.    Go to your Start button in Windows and go to Civil 3D 2025.
2.    Right click on the icon you would normally use to launch Civil 3D 2025.
3.    Right click on this icon and select more.
4.    Then select open location.
5.    A new Windows appears with your Icons.
6.    Right click the icon you would normally use to Launch Civil 3D 2025 and select copy.
7.    Go to a new location such as a folder on your Desktop and right and select Paste.
8.    Do this twice if you want one for AutoCAD and One for Map 3D. You will likely need to rename the 1st icon before you can paste the second. (Do not overwrite the Icon on the Desktop).
9.    Once you have these copied Rename one to Civil 3D as AutoCAD 2025 and Civil 3D as Map 3D 2025 or whatever name you desire for each.
10.    Right click on the icon for Civil 3D as AutoCAD 2025 and go to the Target field. You will see something similar if not exact. (See Step 11)
11.
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Imperial>>" /product C3D /language en-US

We are going to load Civil 3D normally only we are going to change the Workspace on launch. We are going to add the line. (See below)

/w “Drafting & Annotation” for AutoCAD

The new line should look like. (see below).

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\acad.exe" /w “Drafting & Annotation”  /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Imperial>>" /product C3D /language en-US

To recap

Replace this
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Imperial>>" /product C3D /language en-US

With this

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\acad.exe" /w “Drafting & Annotation”  /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Imperial>>" /product C3D /language en-US

12.    Select OK
13.    Test your new icon. This should launch Civil 3D 2025 and automatically make the workspace Drafting & Annotation active.
14.    Perform the same operation for Map 3D
Map 3D
Replace

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Imperial>>" /product C3D /language en-US

With This (notice /w “Planning and Analysis”)

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\acad.exe" /w Planning and Analysis /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2025\AecBase.dbx" /p "<<C3D_Imperial>>" /product C3D /language en-US

You can now place the icon(s) in a common location and use these as needed.
