Autodesk: Error “Install Failed” When you try to install Autodesk 2022 Products

Issue:

When you are trying to install the Autodesk 2022 Products. The install says “Install Failed”.

Causes:

When you look through the log file you notice %localappdata%/Autodesk/ODIS. You may notice an issue with The directX installation.

 

You may see something similar to

“Failed when performing installation of (upi2: {C9D76BF-A352-3EE7-AF06-BFE6D5507BED} name: Microsoft DirectX for Windows)”

Solution:

To resolve this issue

Option 1

  • Run Windows Updates – Make sure Windows is up to date.

Option 2

  • Attempt to install DirectX manually from the Microsoft Website.

  • The Make sure Windows is up to date.
  • Then attempt the install again.

 

If install fails take a look at the issue from the Microsoft Website involving DirectX “failed installs in Windows 10”
