Civil 3D 2021.1 Known Defect with Prospector and Settings buttons

Issue:

You have updated Civil 3D 2021 with the 2021.1 Update and have clicked on the Prospector or Settings buttons in the ribbon and cannot get the tabs to reappear in your Toolspace when clicking on them again (they have a Red box around them when trying to turn them back on.

Causes:

This is a known defect and is logged as defect CIVIL-34922

It’s a minor bug and doesn’t affect performance, but the inability to turn those tabs back on can be a nuisance issue.

Solution:

There are two possible work-arounds.

  1. Uninstall the 2020.1 Update, and then you have to reset the settings back to the defaults, or import known good to get it working properly.
  2. Open a new drawing, and generally the missing tabs in the Toolspace will return.
