Inventor won't open or create new files

Issue:

Inventor won't create any new files and opening some file types may result in a 'Cannot load library dll' error:

For example 'Cannot load library C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2024\Bin\DwgTrans.dll'

Solution:

  1. An uninstall/reinstall of all Microsoft Visual Basic C++ may help.  Follow the instructions here:

https://resources.imaginit.com/support-blog/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-c-libraries

2. If this doesn't help perform a clean uninstall of Inventor per this Autodesk article: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Cannot-load-library-C-Program-Files-Autodesk-Inventor-20xx-Bin-dll-when-launching-or-using-Inventor.html
