What is happening?

In September 2021, Autodesk began the end-of-life process for BIM 360 Team products by ending 3-year renewals and recurring eStore renewals for BIM 360 Team subscriptions. Autodesk is moving to the next phase of the end-of-life process, ending the 1-year renewal of standalone BIM 360 Team subscriptions in January 2023 with the plan of retiring BIM 360 Team products by the end of 2023. In this FAQ article, you can learn more about the impact to your account and the next steps you can consider for copying your data. The BIM 360 Team end-of-life activities also apply to A360 Team users. A360 Team users should review this FAQ to learn more about the impacts and next steps you can consider for copying your data.

Why is this happening?
With the launch of the unified Autodesk Construction Cloud portfolio – Autodesk's products built for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) lifecycle collaboration – they are taking the next step in the end-of-life process for BIM 360 Team. The information and processes outlined in this FAQ will help you copy your files and take advantage of new data and document management functionality as it is released.

What are the key dates and milestones I need to keep in mind?
Here is a list of important dates that you should be aware of related to BIM 360 Team end-of-life. These dates impact users of BIM 360 Team webservice, A360 Team webservice, Desktop Connector desktop application, BIM 360 Team mobile application, and the A360 - View CAD files mobile application.

September 30, 2023 - Desktop Connector will no longer connect to BIM 360 Team and A360 Team. BIM 360 Team files will shift to read-only access, and you can continue to download or copy them using the Autodesk Replication Tool until December 31, 2023.

December 31, 2023 - All BIM 360 Team products are retired. You will no longer have access to files stored in BIM 360 Team or A360 Team, and all access to BIM 360 Team webservices and mobile apps is removed.

Will I be able to continue using BIM 360 Team?
BIM 360 Team products will be available until Autodesk completes the end-of-life process, but we encourage you to begin the file transfer process as soon as possible. It's also helpful to keep in mind the overall timeline as detailed here.

What options are available to copy my data from BIM 360 Team or A360 Team?
You can copy your data from BIM 360 Team or A360 Team to Autodesk Docs. You can also download your data to your local machine. If you work with AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit Cloud Worksharing files, please reference other questions in this FAQ for details specific to those files or reference these help articles:

How do I know if I have a subscription to Autodesk Docs?
If you have a subscription to any of the following product offerings, you already have access to Autodesk Docs.

  • Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Collection
  • Autodesk BIM Collaborate
  • Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro
  • Autodesk Build
  • Autodesk Docs standalone subscription
  • Autodesk Takeoff
  • Autodesk BIM 360 Docs

You can access Autodesk Docs through the Autodesk Account Portal Products and Services page. If you have issues accessing Autodesk Docs from the Autodesk Account portal, contact your contract manager or account administrator. 

Note: Depending on how you subscribe to Autodesk Docs, you may see either 'Autodesk Docs' or 'Docs for AEC Collection' displayed in the Autodesk Account portal.


How do I copy my data if I have a subscription to Autodesk Docs?
If you have a subscription to Autodesk Docs and you do not use AutoCAD Plant 3D, you can use the Autodesk Replication Tool to download your BIM 360 Team files to your local machine or copy files into an Autodesk Docs project. To request access to Autodesk Replication Tool, please complete the sign-up form.

If you have a subscription to Autodesk Docs and you use AutoCAD Plant 3D software, follow the steps found here to move a project in AutoCAD Plant 3D software.

How do I get started with Autodesk Docs?  Contact your account administrator or our support team for assistance in getting started with Autodesk Docs.

How do I contact Customer Support if I need help?
If you need support throughout the process of downloading or copying your files from BIM 360 Team or A360 Team, utilize your existing support process. Contact us today.

I have an Enterprise Business Agreement, are there any special considerations?
No. Enterprise Business Agreement customers should use the Autodesk Replication Tool or the AutoCAD Plant 3Dsteps to move their files to Autodesk Docs

What are the impacts of this end-of-life process to Desktop Connector users?
With the November release of version 16.0.0.1902 of Desktop Connector, you no longer have access to BIM 360 Team or A360 Team files through the application. However, BIM 360 Team and A360 Team files can still be accessed with previous versions of the Desktop Connector product. In September 2023 when the BIM 360 Team files switch to read-only access, all versions of Desktop Connector will cease to support BIM 360 Team and A360 Team files.

How do I copy my data if I am an AutoCAD Plant 3D user?

If you have a subscription to Autodesk Docs and you use AutoCAD Plant 3D software, follow the steps found here to move a project in AutoCAD Plant 3D software.

Details important to A360 Team subscribers working with Fusion 360 Data
What if I am an A360 Team user and don't want to migrate to Autodesk Docs?
If you do not want to migrate to Autodesk Docs, you can choose to migrate to Fusion Team. Please see the next question for details.

How do I migrate from A360 Team to Fusion Team?
The migration process from A360 Team to Fusion Team will be covered by Autodesk, and no action is required on your end. Please note that you must have the appropriate Fusion license assigned to your account to access Fusion Team after the migration. If you do not have the correct license, you will need to contact your account administrator or our support team for assistance in obtaining the correct license.

What if I am an A360 Team user and I want to migrate to Autodesk Docs instead of Fusion Team?
If you were migrated to Fusion Team and you prefer to migrate to Autodesk Docs instead, please reach out to our support team for assistance. They will be happy to help you migrate to the correct product.

What if I currently use the A360 - View CAD files app on my mobile device?
The A360 Team mobile app titled A360 - View CAD files is being retired and will no longer be supported after April 30, 2023. For users making the migration to Fusion Team, we recommend transitioning over to the Fusion 360 app once the migration is complete. The Fusion 360 app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for mobile devices.
