Option 2:  Profile View Band – Point Proximity

A New method to see Point Data in Profiles was added to the 2023.2 release of Civil 3D: Point Proximity Band.

Configuration for it is found in the TOOLSPACE > Settings tab > Profile View collection > Band Styles >  Point Proximity

The default values for “Within” and “Beyond” are 5 and 10.  In this case the configuration for Beyond Alert Distance is set to GREEN and Within Alert Distance is set to RED.

The columns to set the values may be hidden.  From the Profile View Properties dialog box > Bands tab > add the Point Proximity band > right click on the column headers > select  “Alert Distance” and “Max Distance” values.  From there the column values can be edited.

The points are used can be narrowed down to a Point Group, shown the “UTILS” point group is used.  Also if updated are made, the Profile View Band values can be updated manually or automatically.  To set the value select the Profile View > right click > select update method.

We hope you can put this newer option in your designs.  You can see the original method of displaying Point data in Profile Views in a previous post: https://resources.imaginit.com/civil-solutions-blog/civil-3d-point-data-on-profile-views-part-1
