Civil 3D - Issue: View Edit Sections Grayed Out vs Editable

September 30, 2025 Leo Lavayen

Within Autodesk Civil 3D, the View Edit Sections is an easy way to look at the corridor without having to create sample lines and section views.  Stations are control by the Frequency set to the Corridor or Region.

When in the Section editor, to view a section that is between two stations use the selection button beside the Station drop-down.

To save an intermediate station, click Save Intermediate Station.  An Unsaved intermediate station is viable but un-editable.  If an intermediate station is not saved, it will be cleared when the Section Editor is closed.

To keep the added Station, use the Save Intermediate Station button from the on-screen ribbon.  This will enable edits and add the section to Corridor when the Section Editor is closed.
