How to Infer Geometric Constraints in AutoCAD on a Single Object

Issue:

You would like to have Geometric Constraints automated on a single object. However, you do not want to Have CONSTRAINTINFER enabled which would infer Geometric Constraints (Auto-Constraints) on everything.

Causes:

This can be done using the AUTOCONSTRAIN (Command). This command will allow you to select an object(s) and infer Geometric Constraints on just the item(s) selected.

Solution:

How to use AUTOCONSTRAIN

  • Once in a Drawing in AutoCAD.
  • Type AUTOCONSTRAIN in the Command Line and select the <Enter> Key on your Keyboard.
  • Select the Object(s) and select the <Enter> Key on your Keyboard.

The Object(s) has now been constrained.
