AutoCAD: How to keep a file in your “Recent File List”

Issue:

You have a file you use often however it drops off the “Recent File List” before you can use it again. How can you keep this file on the list?

Causes:

These “Recent File List’s” are maintained until you reach a maximum number and then start dropping off the list.

Solution:

How to keep a file on the “Recent File List”

  • There is a small icon that looks like a Thumb Tack.  

  • Select this Icon.
  • The Icon will change to look as though it was “Pinned”.
  • This File should stay on the list until it is “Unpinned”.

This can also be done in the Start Tab.
