Civil 3D Transformation Settings Altered After Save and Close

May 4, 2020 Ryan Wunderlich

Issue:

You have added Transformation settings in your Civil 3D drawing, and after saving and re-opening the drawing the settings have not been save and have been changed to different values.

Current Settings (in 2018):

Trans1

After opening in 2019-2021:

Trans2

Notice how the Transformation settings are not held from the saved drawing.

Causes:

This is a known defect with Civil 3D 2019, 2020 & 2021. The defect is logged with the Autodesk Civil Development team as CIVIL-26981

Solution:

The only solution / workaround at this time is to use Civil 3D 2018 for those projects requiring that needed Transformation Process (it can communicate with 2019-2021 without issues).
