Revit is missing Heating and Cooling Calculation tool

Application Version: Revit 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025


Issue:
The Heating and Cooling Calculation feature is no longer available in Revit 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Causes:
Autodesk has removed the Heating and Cooling Calculation Insight tool from Revit starting with the 2022 version and onward to promote the use of the Systems Analysis tool.

Solution:
While the feature has been removed, it is still accessible by enabling the Heating and Cooling Calculation tool through a modification in the Revit.ini file.

 

  1. Close all Autodesk product.
  2. Open the Revit.ini file located at %Appdata%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 202X.
  3. Add the following two lines under [Misc]:
    • EnableHeatingAndCoolingLoads=1
    • EnableWeatherInLocation=1
  4. Save the Revit.ini file and close notepad.
  5. Open Revit.
  6. The Heating and Cooling Loads button should now be available again.

Note: Update Revit.ini file for all versions that you need Heating and Cooling Loads tool.
