Civil 3D: Station Adjustment and Profile Views

January 19, 2023 Leo Lavayen

A user needed to adjust a profile start station after design had already started.  The start station was set to 0+00 anything plotted before that would appear as a negative value.

The solution is easy; edit the value from the Station Control tab of the alignment properties.

Some unexpected results occurred, the Profile View went empty, and the grid lines shot out.
To correct this, from the Profile View Properties > Station tab > set to Automatic.

Also found a case where the layout profiles did not update, had to switch the Profile Locking option to Anchor to profile start.

Following these suggestions, the Profile View shifted as expected with the linework and labels.
