Version: Revit 2022, can be applied to any version.
Issue:
- Revit crashes when attempting to link a structural model to the project model.
Causes:
- Corrupted Steel Connections add-ins.
- Steel Connections add-ins not installed.
- Steel Connections add-ins are not updated to the latest version for Revit.
Solution:
To resolve the Revit crashing issues, please follow these steps:
- Verify the installed Steel Connections database by running the command "sqllocaldb I" in the Windows Command Prompt.
- Verify the version of the Steel Connections database by using the command. For example if you are using Revit 2022 then input command will be "sqllocaldb I SteelConnections2022".
- Start the Steel Connections service by entering "sqllocaldb start SteelConnections2022" if you are using Revit 2022.
- Verify the version once again and check the status using the command "sqllocaldb I SteelConnections2022" if you are using Revit 2022.
- Stop the service by entering "sqllocaldb stop SteelConnections2022" if you are using Revit 2022.
- Delete the Steel Connections database by using the command "sqllocaldb delete SteelConnections2022" if you are using Revit 2022.
- Update the version by using the command "sqllocaldb create SteelConnections2022" if you are using Revit 2022.
- Start the service again after the update by using the command "sqllocaldb start SteelConnections2022" if you are using Revit 2022.
- Close the Command Prompt.
- Open Revit and attempt to link the structure model once again.
