"License checkout timed out. What do you want to do?" when launching Autodesk 2020 or newer Autodesk software on Windows.
Issue:
When starting an Autodesk 2020 or newer product in Windows, and after a minute or so, a message appears that the license checkout timed out, and the program must be closed.Â

Solution:
Update Autodesk Licensing Service and/or Autodesk SSO Component.
In most cases, the license checkout time-out issue can be resolved by installing updates for the Autodesk Licensing Service, the Single Sign-On Component (AdSSO). AdSSO is for Autodesk products before 2024. Autodesk products 2024 and beyond use the Autodesk Identity Manager.
You can either use the Autodesk Access to download and install the updates or click HERE to download the latest Autodesk Licensing Service. Click HERE to download the Autodesk AdSSO (for Autodesk versions before 2024). Click HERE to download  Autodesk Identity Manager (for Autodesk versions 2024 and beyond).
You can also use your Autodesk Account > Product Updates section to download and install the updates.
