License checkout timed out. What do you want to do?

"License checkout timed out. What do you want to do?" when launching Autodesk 2020 or newer Autodesk software on Windows.

Issue:

When starting an Autodesk 2020 or newer product on Windows, and after a minute or so a message appears, and the program must be close.

Product License - Out of Time
License checkout timed out. What do you want to do?

Solution:

Update Autodesk Licensing Service and/or Autodesk SSO Component.

In most cases, the license checkout times out issue can be resolved by installing the updates for the Autodesk Licensing Service and the Single Sign On Component.

You can either use the Autodesk Access to download and install the two updates or do a search in Google for Autodesk Desktop License service and AdSSO. The newest update at this time for the Autodesk Licensing Service is 13.1.1.12 – If there is a newer update, please install that one.

Or you can use your Autodesk Account > Product Updates section to download and install the updates.
