Ole Objects plotting B&W, preview in Color

Issue:

You have OLE objects inserted into your DWG files and they preview in Color, but are plotting in Black and White

Causes:

This is caused by a system variable being set incorrectly when you inserted the OLE objects. The system variable is OLEQUALITY and by default it’s set to 3 (Automatically set the quality based on the type of OLE object), sometimes it may not correctly register the OLE as Color, and will select Monochrome. If you need color set it to the appropriate value before inserting the OLE object:

Value

Description

0

Monochrome

1

Low graphics

2

High graphics

3

Automatically set the quality based on the type of OLE object

Solution:

If you already have OLE objects inserted, to change that click on the OLE objects, and in then open Properties, at the bottom there is a setting (PLOT QUALITY) that needs to be set to Low Graphics or High Graphics in order to plot in color correctly.
