Error 1 when installing Autodesk 2022 or 2023 software

Issue:

When installing Autodesk 2022 or 2023 products you get an “Install Error:” “The install couldn’t finish. Error 1”

Solution:

  1. On the bottom left Windows start button type “services”
  2. Click on “Services app”

  1. Double click on the “Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service” to open it.

  1. Click on the “Log On” tab at the top.

  1. Click on the “Local System account” and put a check in the “Allow service to interact with desktop” box. Then click apply

  1. Highlight the Autodesk Desktop licensing Service and stop and start the service.

  1. Try installing the product again.
