Autodesk: When launching you receive the error “A software problem has caused <Name of Software, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, etc> to close

Issue:

Autodesk: When launching you receive the error “A software problem has caused [Software] to close unexpectedly”.

Causes:

  • Corrupted Installation.
  • Graphics Issue.
  • Software Update required.
  • Windows Update required.
  • System does not meet Minimum System requirements.
  • Docking Station Graphics, Internet connection are not supported.
  • User Permissions.

Solution:

  • Install latest Windows and product updates
  1. Install all available Windows updates.
  2. Install the latest updates available for the Autodesk product.

  1. Install the Tested and Supported Video Card Driver.

Docking Station

  • Disconnect computer from docking station and launch if the Software launches try one of the following:
  1. Run the application without docking station.
  2. launch the application on the computer and then connect the computer to the docking station.
  3. If the issue persists, contact the Manufacturer of the docking station for support,
  • User Permissions.
