Vehicle Tracking 2022 Tab is Missing from Civil 3D 2022 Ribbon

Issue:

You install the Autodesk Vehicle Tracking 2022 software into Civil 3D 2022 and the tab does not show up, even after several installs/uninstalls/reinstalls.  The Vehicle Tracking tab is missing and does not show up in the CUI dialog under “Partial menus” or the MENULOAD dialogs.

Cause:

This can happen due to a bad install/reinstall.

Solution:

Note:  This solution is for System Administrations.

To resolve this problem will take several steps and is more for system admins to accomplish.

  1. Uninstalled Vehicle Tracking 2022 (VT) using Programs & Features in Control Panel.
  2. Download & run the Microsoft Fix it utility to help resolve install & uninstall problems and removed it again.  For more information about the Microsoft Fix It utility please see the “Tools” section below.
  3. Rename the folder under C:\Program Files\Autodesk and then created a new folder and give the Users Group “Modify” permissions in Security.
  4. Install Vehicle Tracking from a shorter folder structure like this:  C:\Autodesk\Vehicle_Tracking_2022_dlm

Note: not all “downloads” are the same, we highly recommend you use the “Download Now” method so it’s reusable and has error checking built into it.  For more information about the “Download Now” method please see the “Tools” section below.
