Scaling with Bluebeam: Upgrading Your Subscription as Your Needs Grow

June 17, 2026 Emily Cowman

Your team's needs won’t always stay the same and your Bluebeam subscription doesn't have to either. As projects become more complex and workflows evolve, organizations find they need additional functionality beyond their current Bluebeam plan. Bluebeam's Plan Switching program allows customers to move eligible users to a higher-tier plan before their subscription expires.

What is Plan Switching?

Plan Switching allows organizations to move users from one Bluebeam subscription tier to another before their current subscription expires. Rather than waiting for renewal, customers can transition eligible users to a more advanced plan and pay only the prorated difference for the remainder of the subscription term.

This gives teams the flexibility to access new features when they need them.

Eligible Upgrade Paths

The following upgrades are currently supported:

  • Basics → Core, Complete, or Max
  • Core → Complete or Max
  • Complete → Max
  • Legacy Subscription Upgrade → Max*

Please note: Customers upgrading from a Legacy Subscription to Max will move to current Max pricing at renewal. Legacy pricing does not carry over to future renewals.

Why Upgrade to Bluebeam Max?

Bluebeam Max offers the most comprehensive set of tools in the Bluebeam portfolio, helping teams improve collaboration, streamline workflows, and support more complex projects.

Whether your organization is taking on larger projects, expanding its user base, or standardizing processes across departments, Bluebeam Max can help teams work more efficiently.

When Does It Make Sense to Upgrade?

Organizations often upgrade when:

  • Teams require additional collaboration tools
  • New projects demand more advanced workflows
  • Standardization across departments becomes a priority
  • Users need access to Bluebeam Max features

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Plan Switching is only available for upgrades.
  • Subscriptions within 30 days of expiration should be allowed to expire, and the desired plan should be purchased as a new subscription.
  • Existing subscription end dates remain unchanged after upgrading.
  • Users moved to a new plan must be reassigned by the Organization Admin.
