What’s New in Autodesk Revit 2026: Highlights from Our Team

Autodesk has officially rolled out Revit 2026, and as someone who works with clients across AEC every day, I can confidently say—there’s a lot to be excited about in this release.

If you missed our recent webinar, don’t worry—we walked through the key updates, and I’ve recapped the biggest highlights below. Whether you're focused on performance, modeling, or discipline-specific improvements, Revit 2026 delivers enhancements that will help you work faster and smarter.

Graphics Performance Just Got a Major Boost

Revit 2026 introduces a tech preview for accelerated graphics. This update taps into your GPU to dramatically improve how smooth things feel when navigating large models. Panning, zooming, and orbiting in 2D and 3D views is noticeably quicker and more responsive, especially in more complex projects.

ReCap Mesh Plugin Integration

The new ReCap Mesh plugin lets you bring in detailed mesh geometry without bogging down performance. You can even convert that mesh into Revit Families, making it easier to integrate scan data into your designs while staying efficient.

Site Design & Toposolid Updates

For those of you working on site modeling, Revit 2026 expands on the Toposolid tools introduced last year. You'll see more flexible subdivision tools and better accuracy when collaborating between Revit and Civil 3D—especially useful when you're coordinating grading, roads, and other civil elements.

Structural Enhancements

Structural teams will appreciate the new parametric rebar cranking feature, which makes it easier to model complex rebar layouts while avoiding clashes. There's also a one-click option to remove all setbacks from framing elements—helping you keep things clean and precise when detailing.

MEP Upgrades

MEP engineers have some great tools to work with this time around. Revit 2026 replaces AWG with globalized electrical conductors, offering more flexibility for conductor sizing across different regions. The new Systems Zone tool also consolidates HVAC zones, giving you more accurate zoning and easier documentation.
