Revit: Missing Third Party Updater Message

When opening up a Revit model you all of the sudden get a pop up message stating that your file was modified by a third-party updater called AREXRevitStart : REXExtension: DReinfWall.

Revit Third Party Message

This message is popping up because someone working on the model has the Reinforcement extensions from subscription center installed and the user getting the message doesn't.

Solution:

  1. Open the model with Audit checked. With this option I have had users complain that the message still pops up.
  2. You can move forward by selecting "Do not warn and continue working with the file" but users have complained that it will pop backup upon reopening the file.
  3. Your last option that for me always works is to just install the Reinforcement extension from your Autodesk Account or from the Autodesk Desktop app.
  • For 2019 and 2018 it will be the Structural Precast Extension, there is an update for this as well.
  • For 2017 and 2016 it will be the Revit Extensions.

Note: As of 01/19/2024, Revit 2019, Revit 2018, Revit 2017, Revit 2016 is no longer supported by Autodesk. The information contained in this post may no longer be relevant and/or the necessary updates to the product may be inaccessible.
