Revit dimension and spot coordinate isn't working properly

Revit Version: Applied to all Revit versions.

Issue:

  • The dimensions in Revit consistently offset the witness line from the mouse cursor point.

  • Additionally, the spot coordinates are inaccurate, even though the numbers match the survey data.

Causes:

  • The Revit elements are situated more than 5 miles away from the project's internal origin point.

Solution:

Regrettably, it is not possible to modify the project's internal origin point. The only viable solution is to relocate all the modeled elements of the project to a closer proximity to the project's internal origin.

It is crucial to identify and address this issue early on, as failure to do so can result in significant setbacks for the project. To prevent this problem from occurring, it is advisable to commence the modeling process near the project's internal origin point.

Please note that Revit 2024 appears to have attempted to resolve this issue, but there is insufficient evidence to confirm its complete resolution.
