Issue:
When launching any AutoCAD-based programs or trying to plot, you get one or more of the following errors:
Causes:
This problem is usually a very simple issue. Those invalid shortcuts are pointing to a location that no longer exists.
Solution:
There are two ways to resolve this.
- Simply navigate to the location shown in the error message and delete the shortcut
- Right mouse click on the shortcut, and select Properties
In the Shortcut Properties, locate the target box, and update the path there to a more current version
The above example shows AutoCAD 2023 (the full target is):
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2023\addplwiz.exe" /LANGUAGE en-US
Simply update it to the correct version and the error should go away.
