IMAGINiT Vault Client Utilities Create Blank PDFs

Issue:
You are using the IMAGINiT Vault Client Utilities to generate PDFs of your DWG files.  While some of the PDF files appear to generate correctly, others will process as expected, but when viewed, they will be blank.

Causes:
The reason for this behavior is due to how the PDF files are generated.  For Inventor based DWG files, the Inventor Server is used and the IMAGINiT Utilities can make a call directly to that component to generate the PDF.  However, for AutoCAD based DWG files, the Vault uses DWG TrueView by default.  Unfortunately, DWG TrueView does not have an API for developers to leverage when creating custom Vault Jobs, so the PDF generated from an AutoCAD DWG via an IMAGINiT Custom Job on a Job Processor with only DWG TrueView installed will be blank.

Solution:
The solution to this specific issue is very simple.  Just install and license a full seat of AutoCAD on the Job Processor machine(s) so that Full AutoCAD will be used for the jobs vs. DWG TrueView.

Please note:  Only standard AutoCAD should be used, DO NOT use other AutoCAD  installations (Electrical/Mechanical/Architecture/etc.) as that will still result in blank PDF files being generated.
