IMAGINiT Pulse: Procore to Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Q&A

August 9, 2024 Adam Jurczak

Good morning! We have recently shared some exciting news as we’ve debuted IMAGINiT’s Pulse Procore to Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Migration Tool. Since then, we have received an alarming amount of positive feedback along with a significant number of questions.
Today we will dive into the questions regarding the our Procore to ACC Migration Tool!

Q: Is this webinar being recorded?
A: Yes! Check out the recording of the webinar here, where my colleague and I discuss the challenges that lead to today’s solution.

Q: What is Pulse?
A: IMAGINiT’s Pulse is an integration platform that was developed in 2018 for the product design and manufacturing industries. Here it served as an application exchanging data in its desired format from one of many formats to another. More recently we have been hearing from our partners that a gap exists between their Project Data in the Procore Environment and Project Data in the Autodesk Construction Cloud – this is where Pulse the integration platform begins the communication between Procore and the ACC.

Q: Do you have a case study from a real project? References?
A: We are currently working with a Beta Customer and expect to turn it into a case study soon!

Q: Are there ramifications when an ACC client and/or a Procore client have highly configured their roll-out of the respective product?
A: Generally, we have dealt with a couple of highly configured Procore clients in terms of custom fields and special usages - but it's always possible that there will be some kind of limitations that we haven't encountered and can't overcome...

Q: The use case is for migrating from Procore to ACC during a change of CMS systems. Could this be used in the sense ACC Bridge is used between ACC projects? I.e. GC is using Procore, but owner/sub is using ACC - Pulse becomes a live sync for an active projects between companies using different platforms?
A: Yes, this is mostly present, and something that we're actively working on to get live integration from Procore into ACC projects on an ongoing basis.

Q: Does that mean there is nothing we have to pre-create on the ACC side before running the transfer?
A: Not much, but it is something that we assist with on a consultative basis to help set up templates, custom fields or other data points that you want to make sure that will be delivered into the right locations within ACC.

Q: The ACC project probably already exists. Can we sync Procore to an existing project, or Pulse must create a new project?
A: The ACC project can already exist. We just need to map them together - either by a common Project Number or however you'd like to make them correspond.

Q: For ACC, will adding stakeholders and trade partners work similarly as it does on Procore? Or will we need each individual stakeholder to have their own subscription to ACC?
A: Difficult to answer in a global sense, but if you possess Account-based unlimited license for Build/ACC, everyone in your directory will be working from that bucket. But we can also assist in how the invitations work between internal and external contractors, etc. But if you WANT users to have access to Build or Cost or Docs, you have to bring them over and have appropriate access.

Q: Does the master directory of companies and users in Procore Sync to create the same companies and users in ACC? (this would be for someone moving from being a Procore user to an ACC user) not a constant sync.
A: Yes, this can be achieved through IMAGINiT’s Pulse Connector when migrating data from Procore to the ACC.

Q: Do the folder permissions/access rights that are in Procore come across to the ACC doc's?
A: Yes, this is established through our Services component when we are mapping your Procore enviroment to the ACC to ensure .

Q: Can Pulse be used to create a connection between two ACC projects (ex: from a GC's instance for live/working documents to an architect's instance for record retention)?
A: This connection is possible with the technology, but not out-of-the-box. Please contact our Services Team for more information.

Q: How does pricing and licensing work for IMAGINiT’s Pulse Procore to ACC Migration Tool?
A: Please reach out to your IMAGINiT Account Representative.

Procore to ACC is where we are starting with our Pulse solution, but we are not limited to Procore connections. Pulse may not be the solution for all connections but we are close! If your organization requires a different data connection, please reach out to IMAGINiT in order to start the conversation!
