Revit Render Settings Grayed Out

If you are trying to render a view but you can't change the some of the Render Settings because they grayed out, that is because there is a view template assigned to the view that is controlling the render quality.

Render Dialog

To resolve this issue, you can do one of two things

  • Remove the View Template assigned to the view and set it to None, then you can change the render quality to whatever you want.
  • Or you can modify the view template settings under Render Settings for the render quality.  Keep in mind it you do that it will update all other views that have this view template assigned so you may want to duplicate it and change the settings in the duplicate, then assign that view template to the view.
