Simpler System Integrations Made Possible with IMAGINiT Pulse

Companies can gain a significant competitive advantage by integrating engineering systems

The streamlined processes improves accuracy, and enhances productivity, and the insights available give managers information they need to make informed decisions. Together, these benefits, along with many others, can improve both the customer and employee experience. Unfortunately, the time-consuming and expensive integrations of the past have made some people a bit hesitant to make the change. That’s where IMAGINiT Pulse comes in.

20 Years of Experience Built into IMAGINiT Pulse

We developed IMAGINiT Pulse after 20 years of building custom integrations of CAD, document management, product lifecycle management, and ERP platforms for customers in all industries. We recognized that about 85 percent of the activities are common when integrating the same two systems and decided to build a software to productize that portion.

IMAGINiT Pulse performs the common portions of integrations, while our team of engineering and software experts complete the rest with customized consulting, configuration, and scripting. Following the integrations, our expert training and support staff works with users to help ensure they fully understand how to use the software and that our customers gain a strong return on their investment. This approach gets our customers the results they need in less time and for less money.

What IMAGINiT Pulse Does

IMAGINiT Pulse:

  • Tracks all requests made to transfer data back and forth between two engineering systems
  • Hosts all the workflows and scripts of the data exchanges
  • Transitions data and files across the two systems based on workflows and scripts
  • Provides reports, alerts, logging, and tracking

IMAGINiT Pulse supports on-premises systems, like Vault, SolidWorks, and EDM Pro, as well as cloud-based technologies that use OAuth Credentials. It manages the OAuth credentials for scripting, so things are taken care of in batch without anyone needing to be signed into the system.

Three-Step Implementation Process

Step 1 – Identify the data you want to go back and forth between the two systems
This graphic shows an example of data that can be sent between Autodesk Vault with Autodesk 360 Fusion Manage:

Step 2.  Identify the Triggers

Workflows can be triggered by hand or automatically based on a particular way each end point works. For example, when an item moves from one workflow stage to another, an automatic trigger can move the related data from one system into Pulse and send it to the appropriate place in the other system.

Step 3. Detail the Workflows

After setting up the automatic triggers, the IMAGINiT teams breaks the workflow instructions into individual scripts that tell the systems what data to transfer and where to put it. To make it easy for our customers' in-house teams to understand and maintain the fields, Pulse scripting uses:

C# or VB.NET, which are known by 7-8 million .NET developers in the world

High-level logic and field mapping

The ease of maintaining Pulse fields is one of the software’s differentiators. Another differentiator is the fact that Pulse works only with engineering software, which is our area of expertise. Customers can be certain they are getting solutions developed by people who understand their business and their software.
