Vault Server Backup Utility Email notification subject line is confusing

One of the most useful features of the Vault Backup in the IMAGINiT Utilities for Vault Server is the email notification that confirms a successful backup or provides details when a backup fails.

But when an incremental backup is run weekly after a weekend full backup, the email notification subject line is confusing if the terms 'Incremental Backup' and 'Full Backup' are used.



The Notification tab of the Vault Backup Report will allow changes made to the default Subject line in the email:

The subject line is stored in the VaultBackupConfig.exe.config file located here on the Vault Server host:

C:\Program Files (x86)\IMAGINiT Technologies\IMAGINiT Utilities for Vault Server\VaultBackupConfig.exe.config


To avoid confusion, use the default Subject 'Vault Backup Report'. 

The reason is that the line for the MailSubject in VaultBackupConfig.exe.config file is read for each backup.

So, the last scheduled task that was saved will retain the Mail Subject. That is fine for a Full Backup, as shown above.

But for an Incremental Backup, the Mail Subject will still show 'Vault Full Backup Report' and that is what is confusing.

Note: Besides the day of the week and the short duration for an incremental backup, the switch -INC will only appear in an incremental backup report.
