Autodesk Vault Crashing on Preview

IMAGINiT Technologies

Issue:

When switching to the Preview Tab in Vault or performing a View in Window operation the Vault client will crash immediately, often with a CER being generated.  If the last Tab chosen was the Preview Tab, then subsequent sessions of Vault will crash upon open.

Causes:
This problem is due to a software defect but does not affect all users or all systems even in the same environment making it difficult to identify.  Any release from 2018-2020 may be affected.

Solution:
The solution is slated for an upcoming update for 2018-2020 products and should be including in the RTM version of 2021.

In the meantime, the work around is to delete the local Vault Client profile, then avoid using the Preview Tab or the View in Window operation.
