Solution:

First option

  1. Go to Add or Remove programs in Windows and uninstall the program.
  2. If the product is not listed, try the Microsoft troubleshooter tool.
  3. Download the tool and run.
  4. Choose Uninstalling and see if the Autodesk program appears.
  5. If the program is there choose it and then click the next button.
  6. Choose Yes, try uninstall.
  7. After the uninstall completes, try and install the Autodesk product again.
  8. If you still get the error go to the Second option below.

Second option

If the first option didn’t fix the issue, we will need to edit the Windows registry.

Warning! Problems caused by improperly editing the Windows registry could render your computer/operating system unusable. Microsoft provides a wealth of critical information that you need to know about the registry in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.  Use the Microsoft® Registry Editor only at your own risk and only after backing up the registry as well as the system.dat and user.dat files as outlined for your operating system in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.  Additional information about the registry is also contained in the Help topics in the Microsoft Registry Editor.

  1. Go to Windows start or search bar and type REGEDIT
  2. Choose the Registry Editor
  3. In Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
  4. Under Products search until you find the problem Autodesk install on the right-hand side under ProductName.
  5. Delete the Registry key on the left-side where you found the ProductName. In this case the key to delete would be 0A48643700320150000007C5D0680240
